IMPHAL, Sep 14: The 24th foundation day of International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) was organised today at Langol Old Age Home in Langol Ningthou Leikai.
The programme was attended by H Ibotombi Khuman, advisor IPSA; T Birjit, president, IPSA and O Mangi, chairman, Langol Old Age Home as presidium members.
Speaking at the program, Ibotombi Khuman said International Peace and Social Advancement was formed on September 14, 1996 with the main vision to work towards bridging the gap between different communities and strengthen the bond of love between each other. The founding members of IPSA were working under another organisation called Poireirol Apunba before the foundation of IPSA, he added.
He also said IPSA will continuously work with other CSOs like UCM, PPCM and JCILPS on various issues.
It is very unfortunate that many in Manipuri society have disbanded their parents when old and the establishment of the old age home by O Mangi by selling his paddy field is commendable, he added.
IPSA also donated essential items to the home as a part of the programme.
