More fines collected

IMPHAL, Sep 14 : The Police Department detained and fined 31 individuals today for violating guidelines and restrictions issued by relevant Government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Thoubal district continued to lead in the number of SOP violators with 22 followed by Jiribam and Bishnupur with 3 each, Imphal West 2 and Imphal East 1.
A sum of Rs 7,950/- was also collected as fine from the SOP violators who were let go after warning. As of today, the Police Department has fined 1,56,221 SOP violators and collected a sum of Rs 2,57,95,610/- as fines since the beginning of the pandemic.
