MPYCC stages protest

IMPHAL, Sep 18 : Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) has taken out a protest rally on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 71st birthday by declaring the day as National Unemployment Day.
At the rally, the protestors raised slogans such as "Narendra Modi Down Down", "BJP Government Down Down", "N Biren Government Down Down" etc.
Speaking to the media, MPYCC president N Mahananda said that Narendra Modi has failed to deliver his promise of giving employment opportunities to 2 crore youths every year in the 2014 Lok Sabha election manifesto.
He said that the protest was staged as a myriad of youths are bearing the brunt of joblessness due to the non deliverance of his promise. Even the BJP in Manipur had promised to employ at least 1 person from every household at the time of 2017 Assembly election, he said and asked if the Government has kept its promise. The protest is being staged as a mark of condemnation to the empty promises of the BJP, he added.
