Awareness programme on menstrual hygiene held

IMPHAL, Sep 20: An awareness program on menstrual hygiene was organised today under the 'My Pad My Right' campaign of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at Koirou Mamang Leikai community hall in Imphal East.
The awareness programme organised by Leichal SHG in collaboration with NAB Foundation and Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) and sponsored by NABARD was attended by Ahongsangbam Naoba, up pradhan, Thongju Part II GP; Kh Swarnalata, ward member; Dr Kh Hemanta, MO in-charge, Bashikhong PHC and K Jagajeet Sharma, cluster coordinator, MSRLM as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Phairembam Prabha, member of Leichal SHG said under the campaign launched by NABARD, 35 districts from the Country were selected and Imphal West was part of it. Under this campaign, Leichal SHG had launched 'Chanura Pad' recently and the program was being organised today with the aim of giving awareness to rural women on menstrual hygiene. Leichal SHG is also making provisions to make Chanura pad available to the rural women at a very low cost, she added.
Dr Kh Hemanta gave a talk about menstrual hygiene and also cleared the doubts and queries raised by the women.
