IMPHAL, Sep 28 : The Joint Committee of Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) observed the 21st Manipur Integrity and Solidarity Day to commemorate the mass rally of September 28, 2000 at AMSU Multipurpose hall, DM College Campus today.
A statement of the committee said the event was attended by chairman of the observation committee, L Nganbi Leima; working chairman, Th Manihar; IMSCOM president, Momsokan Bapui; former UPF president, BM Yaima as presidium members.
RK Bobichand, Executive Editor of Imphal Review of Arts and Politics also attended the programme as a resource person, it said.
The massive rally, which is considered one of the biggest rallies taken out in South Asia, strongly denounced the persistent divisive tactics employed by the Government of India and NSCN (IM), the joint committee recalled.
Acknowledging the importance of the rally, the committee also expressed gratitude to all the participants and those who extended invaluable support for successful organisation of the rally back then.
The Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council also observed the 21st Manipur Integrity and Solidarity Day in a low key function.
The observance was jointly organised by MAPI Council and Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup (NLANL) under the aegis of AMKIL and NIPCO at the conference hall of NLANL for Imphal East district, said a statement of MAPI Council.
The observance programme has been scaled down and organised at district level owing to the pandemic situation, the statement said.
The observance was attended by NLANL president, Y Mema; president in-charge of MAPI Council, KC Romeo and UPF president, N Rupa as presidium members, it said.
The historic mass rally of September 28, 2000 organised by  Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) and National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) was participated by representatives of 39 communities to uphold the spirit of unity and the territorial integrity of the State is worth remembering, it said.
The observance aims at raising awareness of such a significant rally to the present generation and the generations to come as the event witnessed representatives and leaders of various communities standing together and pledging for unity and integrity, it said.
The presidium members also appealed to the State Government to work sincerely and as per the aspiration and wishes of the people at the event, it continued.
Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Meetei Council Moreh and AMSU Tengnoupal District Committee observed the 21st Manipur Integrity and Solidarity Day under the aegis of AMKIL and NIPCO at Kondong Lairembi.
Meetei Council Moreh president, M Thoiba; Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup president, Th Ibemhal and AMSU Tengnoupal District Committee president N Tomba attended the event as presidium members who also spoke on various matters, reports our correspondent.
The Apunba Nupi Lup (ANUL) in association with National Identity Protection Council jointly organised the 21st Integrity and Solidarity function today at the office of ANUL at Bishnupur district.
The function was attended by L Pramo, president ANUL; Khangembam Shining, president AMSU Bishnupur district and Sunil Karam, former president UCM as presidium members.  Similar programmes were also organised in Thoubal,, Churachandpur and Jiribam districts.
