Veteran T-20 Cricket Muzibur's half century gives CHAMP 34 run victory

IMPHAL, Jan 13: An impressive half century from Muzibur Rahaman aided CHAMP, Khagempali to beat YUCC, Kwakeithel by 34 runs in the ongoing 9th T20 Manipur Veteran Cricker Tournament 2021-22 today at Oriental College Ground today.
Opening the match with Geet, who returned to the pit with just 7 runs of 18 balls, Muzibur added 58 runs of 52 balls. Alai (25 runs of 21 balls), Sanjot (6 runs of 8 balls) and Bullu (6 runs of 3 balls) resulted in 126/8 in the scoreboard for CHAMP.
YUCC's line-up were unable to stick to the CHAMP's attack ending the chase with just 98 runs with a fall of 8 wicket by the end of the 20th over. Sunil (11 of 18 balls), Sibananda (17 of 31 balls), Devdutta (12 of 13 balls), Basanta (14 of 14 balls) and Naobi (8 of 7 balls) was just not enough to meet the set-target of 127.
With an impressive performance from Muzibur Rahaman in bowling front too, giving away just 15 runs in 3 overs and taking 3 wickets, Muzibur was adjudged the Man of the Match.
CYCLONE, Thangmeiband will face NAPSA, Keisham Leikai in tomorrow's match.
Meanwhile Manipur Veteran Cricket Association has notified a revised fixture for the 9th T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2021-22.
The association has informed that the due to the prevailing condition of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament will now be played at two venues, Oriental College and Luwangpokpa Ground simultaneously from Jan 15 onwards.
