IMPHAL, Jan 14
In view of the surge in Covid positive cases in the past few days, Lions Club of Imphal Greater donated essential food items to the inmates of the Old Age Home, Mongsangei yesterday.
The essential food items were donated in association with Lions Club of Imphal Excellence under the Lions Club International's global cause of 'Relieving the Hunger'.
The donated items include rice, refined oil, potatoes, onions, sugar, tea leaves, milk, eggs, water bottles etc.
Ashok Konjengbam, president of Lions Club of Imphal Greater said that the programme was organized to mark the birth anniversary of Melvin Jones, founder of Lions Club International and to pay homage to him.
Arun Thongam, Zone Chairperson, Zone XVI, Lion District 322D, Sapam Anand, Secretary, Lions Club of Imphal Excellence, B Sanamacha Sharma, General Secretary, Old Age Home, Mongsangei and the members of the club were also present on the occasion.
Later a lunch was also arranged for the inmates and attendees.
