Special Judge NIA directs

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : The Special Judge NIA Manipur has directed MLA Yamthong Haokip who is an accused in the 2nd Manipur Rifle arms missing case to not seek leave in future for his personnel matter other than medical treatment.  
The direction was given in connection with the application filed by Saikul AC MLA Yamthong Haokip who prayed to pardon him for going to Delhi on November 6 without the permission of the Court.
The Counsel of applicant submitted that Yamthong Haokip was released on bail on health grounds with the condition that he should  not leave the State without the permission of the Court.  
It was also submitted that Yamthong Haokip was  compelled to go to New Delhi due to an urgent matter On the other hand, Special PP NIA submitted  the MLA leaving the State without prior permission is a serious violation of the Court order and asked the Court to reject his application. The Court was closed for four days (November 4 to 7).
The Court after hearing both parties and on perusal of the case record directed the MLA to not seek leave in future for his personal business(es) other than for medical treatment.
