Accused convicted

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : The Special Judge POCSO Senapati has convicted one Santosh Limbu (22) for sexually assaulting a minor on July 2, 2020 under section 6 of POCSO Act, today.
The case was registered against Santosh Limbu, s/o Tej Bahadur of Thonglang Akutpa after a written complaint was lodged by the father of the victim before the OC of Kangpokpi police station.
The convict was arrested from Nahabir village on July 9 at around 9.50 pm while charges were framed against him by the Court on December 15, 2020.
The Court after careful analysis of the testimonies of the witnesses and the evidence on record observed that there is medical and forensic evidence to prove the guilt of the convict.
Hence, the Court convicted Santosh Limbu under section 6 of POCSO Act and fixed January 21 for sentence hearing.
