Former MP BD Behring appeals

Former Rajya Sabha MP BD Behring has appealed the Election Commission of India and CEO Manipur to review its earlier notification and reschedule the date of poll for first phase on February 27, which is a Sunday.
In an open letter to the ECI and CEO, BD Behring said as majority of the people in the hill ACs are followers of Christianity and Sunday is a day of worship for them. As such the scheduling of election on Sunday is against the religious sentiment of the people, he added in the letter.
