1st CC Village Cup : CCYC set up pre quarter final date with Japhou YC

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : Hosts Chandel Christian Youth Club (CCYC) beat Panchai FC 4-3 on penalties after 4-4 regulation time draw to set up last 16 round date with Japhou YC who got a walk over in the ongoing 1st Chandel Christian Village Cup 202.
With a pre-quarter final berth at stake, CCYC and Panchai FC were neck an neck throughout the game but Panchai FC were 3-2 ahead till the break.
Zamsollal drew first blood for Panchai FC in this evenly matched game with his strike in the 15th minute before Beningtha doubled the advantage within a span of three minutes.
Following the back to back goals, CCYC rallied back with some fine attacking moves and pulled back a goal via Rucho in the 24th minute. But, Beningtha was at the target again in the 29th minute to help Panchai FC retain the two goal advantage before CCYC's Wolcham scored another for the team to keep their comeback home alive in the 33rd minute.
TS Shelminthang then scored the equalizer for CCYC in the 49th minute before adding another in the 52nd minute to overturn the lead.
Panchai FC, however, fought back valiantly and restored parity with St Levite goal in the 73rd minute to render the game to be decided via kicks from the penalty mark.
In the shoot-out, Panchai FC were unlucky as only Beningtha, Mowar and Longam were able to score from the spot against CCYC who managed four goals to finish the game 8-7.
