KIWT : Ahsijolneng edge out Kilkhong 2-1 on penalties in U-15 football

KANGPOKPI, Jan 18 : Ahsijolneng defeated Kilkhong 2-1 via tiebreaker after a 2-2 draw during the normal time of a keenly contested U-15 football match in the 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022 being underway at Brigadier M Thomas Ground.
Paoboilal (11', 31') scored for Ahsijolneng side while Lengunhao (21') and Mangkhanlen (35') scored for the Kilkhong side during the normal time before tiebreaker decided the winners..
In main football, Vengthah made a better comeback after a goalless draw in the opening match, to seal a narrow 1-0 win over Lendou Veng who are led by  former ISL player Boithang Haokip.
The goal that earned the defending champions the first win in the tournament was scored by skipper Khaigouhao's in the 41st-minute off an indirect kick from the 15 yard.
In the second main football, Kholmun Veng overwhelmed Nanglhun Veng 7-2 as Lalkhanlen took centre stage scoring four goals (3', 11', 13' and 40') alone.
Lalminlen added another two goals in the 22nd and 51st minutes as Lenminlun hit a goal in 34th minute.
Nanglhun's side managed to pull back two goals, with Sehgunmang converting a penalty shoot in the 27th minute and Satminchon scoring the other in the 47th minute.
In veteran football, Dr GG Crozier Mission Compound prevailed 6-0 over Enjakhup Veng in the first match as Mangkho scored a hat-trick (17', 36', 49') and Seilal (24'), Mangpu (28') and Dr Paul (31') scored a goal apiece.
In another veteran football, Phungtin Veng defeated Ahsijolneng 2-1 thanks to Satneo (11') and Seijahen (36') goals.
Ahsijolneng, on the other hand, scored the consolation goal via Jangchon in the 15th minute.
Tomorrow, in U-15 football, Lendou Veng will play Moltinchan Veng at 8 am.
In women's volleyball, Nanglhun Veng will play Sipinthei Veng in the first match and Ngambom Veng (B) will play Kilkhong Veng in the second match.
In men's volleyball, Jonlhing Veng will play Sipinthei veng. In main football, Chengjapao Veng will play Japhal Veng in the second match while Lendou Veng will play Ahsijolneng Veng in the fourth match.
In veteran football, Ngambom Veng will play Tintong Veng in the first match while Nanglhun Veng will play Moltinchan Veng in the third match.
