3 deaths, 411 more cases recorded; no test at Pherzawl for second day

IMPHAL, Jan 23 : Even as Manipur continued to report above 400 new cases for the fourth day on the trot, no samples were tested at Pherzawl district for the second day today, with the result that the said district reported zero daily positivity rate.
Three more deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours and significantly all three of them were fully vaccinated (had their second dose) and two of them had co-morbidities. The three deceased persons were from Imphal West (1) and Churachandpur (2). With the addition of three more the cumulative number of deaths due to the virus has risen to 2025.
A total of 411 persons including 52 Central security personnel were tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. In the last few days, Manipur has seen a surge in the number of security personnel testing positive for the virus.
The 359 civilians who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (81), Imphal West (164), Thoubal (26), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (16), Kangpokpi (4), Jiribam (3), Noney (3), Ukhrul (1), Tengnoupal (11), Senapati (2), Chandel (9) and Churachandpur (28).
All necessary measures including containment and contact tracing have been taken up.
The 411 positive results were detected  out of 2513 samples tested in the last 24 hours to take the daily positive rate to 16.4 percent.
With 411 more testing positive, the cumulative figure of positive cases in Manipur has gone up to 1,30,072 including 4868 Central security personnel.
Seven out of the 16 districts in the district reported 10 and above daily positivity rate in the last 24 hours while 11 districts reported above 5 percent TPR.
Chandel district led the daily positivity rate with 31.1 percent followed by Churachandpur with 25.2 percent. Imphal West logged 24.3 percent TPR, Imphal East 23.4 percent, Kakching 22.5 percent, Noney 17.6 percent, Thoubal 17.1 percent, Kangpokpi 8.7 percent, Ukhrul 8.6 percent and Bishnupur 8.3 percent.
The number of active cases in the State has increased to 3413 inclusive of 378 Central security personnel.
On the other hand a total of 134 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (82), RIMS (2), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (43). The recovery rate is now 95.82 percent.  cKangpokpi continues to lie at the bottom of the vaccination table with only 13.67 percent of the eligible population having received the full dose of the vaccine. Ukhrul is just above with 19.29 percent, Kamjong with 23.37 percent, Senapati 25.13 percent, Noney 29.57 percent, Tamenglong 30.20 percent, Pherzawl 32.28 percent, Tengnoupal 32.87 percent.  Jiribam with 59.63 percent and Imphal West with 59.44 percent are the two best performing districts on the vaccination table.
Overall the State has vaccinated (two doses) just 10,32,444 persons with 7544 vaccines administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 14,879 doses have been given as precautionary dose.
On January 22, a total of 210 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 22 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
