Court convicts rape accused

IMPHAL, Jan 28 : Salam Imocha, Special Judge (POCSO) Fast track Court Manipur-I has convicted one 34 year old Longjam Pinky under Section 6 of POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a minor girl from June 28, 2014 to October 4, 2015 at different locations.  
The judgment order was announced today after it was kept reserved a few days back.
The case was on against convict Longjam Pinky, s/o Inaocha of Singjamei Chanam Pukhri Mapal after a criminal case was filed against him by the father in 2015.
The complaint mentioned that the victim was sexually assaulted by L Pinky on several occasions and as such the minor got pregnant and delivered a baby girl in October 2015.
The Investigating Officer of the case Inspector Ksh Sanajaobi arrested the convict after investigating the case on October 4, 2018.
The case was later transferred to Special Judge POCSO Fast Track Court Manipur-I by an order of the High Court of Manipur last year.
