GC CRPF Imphal opens four gymnasium parks
IMPHAL, Jan 27
Group Centre CRPF, Langjing dedicated 4 open gymnasium parks and a herbal farm in the name of CRPF martyrs on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day inside the Group Centre campus yesterday.
Manish Kumar Agarwal, new IG, M&N Sector in the presence of brave family members dedicated an open gym park in the name of Shaheed CT/GD S Prem Kumar, said a statement of DIGP, GC CRPF Imphal.
Further, Pratibha Tripathi and DK Tripathi, DIG (ADM), M&N Sector inaugurated another park and dedicated it in the name of Shaheed CT/GD Y Shole Singh, the statement said.
Dr Pratima Sharma and Suresh Sharma, DIG (PAW), M&N Sector also inaugurated another park dedicated to Shaheed CT/GD H Punshi Singh while the fourth park dedicated to Shaheed HC/GD M Biren Singh was opened by Sita Devi, president, RCWA, GC, CRPF, Imphal and Madan Kumar, DIG, Group Centre, CRPF Langjing-Imphal, it said.
Meanwhile, an organic farm dedicated to Shaheed Asstt  Commandant N Manoranjan Singh was inaugurated by RS Rautela, DIG, Range, CRPF, Imphal and PK Nayak, DIG (Int/Ops), M&N Sector, it said.
During the inaugural function which was attended by officers/SO/Jawan/families and children of the Campus, the new IG paid respect to the families of the martyrs present.
In his speech as the chief guest of the function, the IG appreciated GC, CRPF, Langjing Imphal for establishing the open gymnasium parks in the name of the martyrs.
The IG also lauded DIG of the Group Centre Madan Kumar for his visionary thinking, the statement said.
Madan Kumar, in the meantime, noted that fitness has always been an integral part of our life, it said.
He pointed out that many health issues have emerged due to the changing lifestyle and reduced physical activities and encouraged all to engage in fitness activities to keep mind and body fit, it said.
He also expressed that the Group Centre strongly believes in the "Fit India Movement" and "Kheloge to Khiloge" initiatives and has been continuously having programmes to encourage the people of GC, it continued.
He had also said that the development of four gyms and a  herbal farm is the next big step in that direction, it added.
