28 films lined up for Intl film fest

IMPHAL, Jan 28 : Twenty-eight films from Manipur, Bangladesh, Assam and Tripura will be competing at the 2nd International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival 2022 organised by IPAK Film Production Manipur.
Social Welfare Director Ng Uttam relayed this information at a press meet held at the Conference Hall of the Social Welfare Department today.
It may be noted that the 2nd International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival 2022 is sponsored by Directorate of Social Welfare, Manipur under the theme of 'Let's Make Manipur Drug Free' and will be conducted under the supervision of Film Forum Manipur.
Speaking to media persons, Ng Uttam informed that 24 films from Manipur, 2 from Assam and one each from Tripura and Bangladesh will be competing in the film festival. The films will be screened on January 30 at Manipur Press Club. They will be eligible for the 11 awards, namely, best film award, 2nd best film award, 3rd best film award, best director, best story, best editor, best cinematography, best male actor, best female actor, best child actor and best film of a debut director, he shared. These 11 awards will be based on the jury's picks.
Further, he informed that the 28 competing films will be uploaded on IPAK Media's Youtube channel and based on the likes the films receive between 10 am February 5 till 8 pm February 15, one film will be selected for IPAK Best Popular People Choice Award 2022.
The awards will be distributed on February 21 during International Mother Language Day celebration, Ng Uttam added.
