Lamsang Block Congress Committee ‘dissolved’

IMPHAL, Jan 29: In a major political development, Lamsang Block Congress Committee President Yumkhaibam Kumarjit has announced the dismantling of the Lamsang Block Congress Committee, Mahila Congress Committee and Youth Congress Committee.
The statement was made at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul today.
Speaking to media persons, he stated that former office bearers of Lamsang Block Congress Committee and Congress workers of Lamshang, after careful deliberation, had arrived at the decision to extend their support to either BJP or another staunch rival of the Congress.
Yumkhaibam Kumarjit expressed disappointment with the Congress Party and its leaders, stating that they had violated the rules and regulations of the party and given the ticket to an undeserving candidate without consulting the Committee leaders in Lamshang.
As a result, disgruntled members of Congress Block Committee, Mahila and Youth Committee resigned and resolved to support a rival party of the Congress, he informed.
Y Kumarjit further added that despite him not receiving the party ticket for the upcoming 12th Legislative Assembly Election, the Congress workers in Lamshang would not have taken such offense if the Congress party had at least selected a deserving and worthy candidate. He stated that such an attitude will lead to the Congress party's demise.
