St Thomas Catholic Church celebrates Golden Jubilee

The Golden Jubilee celebration cum new Church dedication of St Thomas Catholic Church, Taosiamjang under Khoupum Sub-division, Noney district was held on Friday with the theme, "Jesus Christ the Light has Shone, we have shared his Abundant Life".
Rev Dominic Lumon DD Arch Bishop, Imphal Diocese unveiled and blessed the Golden Jubilee monolith and new Church building.
Flag hoisting and hall dedication was conducted by Fr Tinglung Frances while Fr Johnny Thaimei led the Holy Mass and special prayer for deceased souls.
During the programme, SIR Thomas elaborated on the history of St Thomas Catholic Church, Taosiamjang.
He mentioned that the Church which was established in 1972 had a humble beginning with only 7 households.
Fr Micheal Hingba, SDB Parish Priest also delivered a speech on the living God.
Cultural dances, songs and other activities marked the occasion.
