Haokholet Kipgen to contest polls in Saitu AC

KANGPOKPI, Jan 28: Former Minister and chief of Hengbung village, Haokholet Kipgen has announced his candidature for the forthcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 from 51-Saitu Assembly Constituency.
The 64 years old veteran politician made the announcement in the presence of tribe leaders, village chiefs, youth leaders, ex-MDCs, CSO leaders, etc of 51-Saitu AC during a public declaration cum blessing programme held at Hengbung village.
Speaking on the occasion, Haokholet Kipgen stated that he is hopeful to win the election with the support of the people of Saitu AC.
"I have decided to contest the election to bring sustainable peace so that people of Saitu AC could live peacefully with a desire to contribute to the state and National level policy making", he asserted.
During the programme, the Election Core Committee of Haokholet Kipgen was also announced.
Rev Letkhothong Haokip invoked a blessing prayer for Haokholet Kipgen and his Election Core Committee while dedicating the altar offered by the intending candidate’s wife.
Mangkhosat Kipgen, chief of Leikot village along with other tribe leaders of Saitu AC also prayed for the success of Haokholet Kipgen in the forthcoming election.
