9th Manipur Veteran T-20 CricketYWC-L beat YPHU by 29 runs in tourney opener

IMPHAL, Jan 3 : YWC, Langthabal rode on all round performance by G Gojendro to register a 29 run victory against YPHU, Lalambung Makhong in the opening match (Group A) of the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground today.
The Langthabal team won the toss and posted a total of 133 runs for 9 after electing to bat first. Gojendro emerged the most run getter for the team scoring 40 runs off 41 balls while L Manaobi and Y Premchandra added 29 and 23 runs respectively.
The innings saw Hemta of YPHU pick 3 wickets and Boynao and Surjit shared two wickets each.
Despite commendable performances by the bowlers, YPHU batters failed to stand ground and could muster only 104 runs for 9 wickets in the chase.
Hemanta added the highest 25 runs off 25 balls for YPHU as Daneshor and Boboton added 18 and 17 runs respectively.
The chase was greatly troubled by YWC's Kumarjit who finished with a four wicket haul and Gojendro who scalped thrice to earn the man of the match accolade. Sumanda managed the other wicket in YPHU's innings.
CYCLONE, Thangmeiband will play OSCAR, Paona Bazar in the Group B league opener on January 7.
