IMPHAL, Jan 5 : Tentha Polo Club will lock horns with Tekcham Polo Club-A in the title clash of the 2nd Thoubal District Polo Tournament hosted at Tekcham Polo ground under the supervision of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association.
The first semi-final match of the tournament witnessed Tekcham Polo Club-A seal a landslide 9-1 victory against Samurou Polo Club.
M Kuber proved his scoring prowess by scoring 5 goals alone in this one sided encounter after K Jugindro and S Sadananda chipped in a goal apiece to make it 2-0 in the first chukker.
M Kuber then scored his first two goals in the second chukker to extend the lead to 4-0 before O Paikhomba scored the only goal for the Samurou team in the 6th minute of the chukker.
M Doren then hit one goal before M Kuber scored another two goals in the third chukker to make it 7-1.
M Kuber then completed his haul of 5 goals in the opening minute of the final chukker before M Abhigyan added his single and wrapped up the game 9-1.
Tentha Polo Club then thrashed Tekcham Polo Club-B by 8-2 goals to set up the final date with Tekcham Polo Club-A.
P Bikash took centre stage in this yet another lopsided semi-final match as he banged in 5 goals alone.
Tentha Polo Club had a brilliant start with S Naoba scoring two goals within two minutes of the opening chukker before P Bikash scored two of his goals to make it 4-0.
P Bikash then completed his treble in the second chukker to make it 5-0 till halfway.
S Daneshwar pulled back a goal for Tekcham Polo Club-B in the third minute of the third chukker but it proved to be their goal in the chukker. Star of the match, P Bikash then struck twice back to back in the 5th and the 6th minute before S Priyo struck once within the same minute to make it 8-1 at the end of the third chukker.
S Daneshwar then scored another goal for the Tekcham side in the fifth minute of the last chukker.
The final match is scheduled on January 7.
