Football turf "Arena 5/9" inaugurated

IMPHAL, Oct 16 : A football turf of Heritage Convent School located at Uripok Bachaspati Leikai was formally inaugurated today.
The inauguration programme of the football turf christened " Arena 5/9" was attended by former Indian football player, P Renedy and his spouse, IAS Pooja Elangbam as dignitaries who formally opened the turf by cutting the ribbon. Announcing that the turf has been formally opened from today, Executive Director of Heritage Convent School, S Vikramjit said that the turf was opened with an objective of ensuring students' healthy activities alongside formal education.
Noting that football is the most popular game in the State, he said that the turf will not be limited to students only but will also enable locals and other people to access on payment of certain fees. The turf will be open from 5 am to 9 pm to others leaving school hours which are reserved for students, he continued.
