IMC decrees

IMPHAL, Oct 16 : The Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) has informed that no street vendors and other unauthorised persons would be allowed to squat or carry on business in public places, roads, streets and other open spaces in and around Khwairamband Keithel with immediate effect.
In an order, IMC Administrator M Joy said that the decision was taken in view of the acute congestion, traffic  bottlenecks, street littering and other chaotic conditions in and around Khwairamband Keithel due to street vending.
The Administrator said that street vendors will only be allowed to vend  at the Temporary Market  in two shifts (from 6 am to 12 noon and from 1 pm to 7 pm) on a first come first served basis daily.
