Gold seized

IMPHAL, Oct 21 : A team of the Anti-Smuggling Unit of Customs Division, Imphal seized 1243 grams of gold in paste from Imphal International Airport, yesterday.
According to well placed sources, the gold was seized from Md Abir Khan (38), s/o Md Majarhar of Keirao Makting Menjor Ingkhol, Imphal East.
Reportedly, the gold was found concealed in his (Abir Khan) rectum and its value is estimated to be around Rs 57,73,686.
It is further reported that Abir Khan was intercepted at the departure hall of Imphal International Airport while boarding Air India flight.
A case has been registered.
