India Hypertension Control Initiative launched at PHC Charangpat

Thoubal, Oct 24 : India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI) was launched today for Thoubal district at PHC Charangpat in the presence of SMO, Dr Mutum Bikram and ICMR Senior Supervisor, Akoijam Sonam Devi.
IHCI is a nationwide health care initiative involving the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), WHO-India and State Governments.
The project will be initiated in 4 health care centres of Thoubal district namely CHC Yairipok, PHC Charangpat, HWC Wangkhem and HWC Bengi.
At the launching event, Akoijam Sonam Devi enlightened the gathering about hypertension.
Hypertension check-up and free medicines were also provided to about 30 villagers of the area.
ASHA workers, SN, ANM and CHO also attended the launching programme.
