Preshow MK Shimray takes charge as UDOA president

Ukhrul, Nov 17 : Former Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Preshow MK Shimray has taken charge as the president of Ukhrul District Olympic Association (UDOA) during a function held at the conference hall of Zimik Plaza at Viewland Ukhrul.
Preshow Shimray will hold the office till 2026.
Phungchan Raikhan, convener of UDOA interim body, in his keynote address, expressed gratitude to all sporting associations of Ukhrul for their support to the association despite facing many shortcomings.
Returning officer of UDOA Worthingso Soro distributed certificates to all the elected leaders.
The newly elected leaders of UDOA are Preshow MK Shimray, president ; CS Xavier Khangam Shairei, senior vice president, Khayui Raleng, vice president; Leiyolan Vashum, vice-president; VR Churchill,  vice-president; AC Tamyo, general secretary; Ningacham Meiphok , joint secretary; Soreichan Nakhedei, joint secretary; Ngalayo Makan,  joint secretary; Nickson Shirik, joint secretary; Somi Sareo, treasurer and executive members - Alfred Kanngam Arthur, Kapingsang Phinao, Ngaraipam Kasomwoshi, Yaruimung Zimik, Philawon Awungshi, Sword Ronra Shimray and Epchan Pharung.
Meanwhile, the Ukhrul District Olympic Association felicitated Thotmachan Awungshi Zimik for winning gold medal at the 2nd North East Olympic Games-2022 in the junior cycling event MTB-XC-13 and Jennifer Luikham, the winner of UTR Pro-Tennis (PTT) event held at New Delhi by giving a cash award of Rs 25000 each.
The newly elected president Preshow Shimray in his speech sought support from all to produce more world class players from the district.
He also assured that he will work at his best capacity to fulfil the expectation of the people
Later, the president of UDOA declared Jennifer Luikham as a mascot of Ukhrul district for the year.
