Award for Eewai

IMPHAL, Nov 6: Manipuri short film “Eewai” (The Ripple) has been awarded the Honourable Jury Award in the 11th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival, 2022.
Rebika’s script and directed by Biswamittra, “Eewai” is a 23.24 minutes short fiction film. Produced by Samir Thingbaijam for banner Nongdol Mamikol, the film has already been officially selected for seven other International Film Festivals.
“Eewai” talks about the contemporary relevance of traditional norms and customary laws in the Meitei community and it follows the journey of a mother, whose child died before attaining the age of 3.
The film features National Awardee Tonthoi and Internationally acclaimed Rashi Devi in the lead roles.
