Common Facility Centre inaugurated

IMPHAL, Dec 19: Agriculture Minister Thongam Biswajit has inaugurated a Common Facility Centre (CFC)  of Keirao Block Level Handloom Cluster at Thongju Part II in Imphal East district today.
The inaugural function was also graced by Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Khumanthem Diana Devi; Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers & Handicrafts Artisans Cooperative Society Limited president A Ronika Devi; Weavers’ Service Centre (WSC), Imphal Deputy Director Harakanata Baro and National Handloom Development Corporation Limited (NHDC), Imphal Officer-in-charge (Marketing) as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Thongam Biswajit maintained that the Central Government under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been striving for a self-reliant India
To achieve this vision, activities are being taken up in  various sectors including handloom and handicrafts to upgrade the technology and skills to generate more income.
He further expressed that the newly opened CFC will provide many training facilities focusing on marketing and capacity building.
With regards to progress of development in Thongju AC, he said that his constituency is developing at a great pace and said that various developmental activities are being taken up at present as well for the welfare of all.
