IMPHAL, Dec 24 : L Electronic's shone with a five wicket haul to give NAPSA-Kha Imphal a commanding 7-wicket win over AKSDO-Khangabok in a Group A match of the MNCA Plate Tournament at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College Ground.
AKSDO who opted to bat first were bundled out for a meagre tally of 112 runs in 36.5 overs today before NAPSA chased down the target in 24.4 overs losing three wickets.
AKSDO had a sloppy start to their innings and were reduced to 33 for 3 after 10.1 overs with Rocky Yumnam (3/11 in 8 overs) getting rid of AKSDO's top order batters- Chinglensana Moirang- them (8), Khamba Khundong-bam (18) and Laishram Samson (0).
Laishram Electronic then took charge of the bowling attack and took three successive wickets to leave AKSDO stuttering at 89 for 6 in 32.4 overs. Nepram Richer of NAPSA also aided well by trapping Winchelly Laishram (23) lbw for the 7 wicket before Electronic claimed the 8th wicket and his fourth in the form of Rohit Elangbam (5) after 34.5 overs.
Nepram Richer then removed Sanayai Ningthoujam (4) to return with 2/24 in 6 overs before Electronics completed his five wicket haul by dismissing Rosan Laishram for 1 in the first delivery of the 36th over.
In the chase, NAPSA had a promising start before suffering a jolt as Heisnam Boney (5) and L Electronic (16) departed in last two balls of the 6th over.
Rosan Laishram then trapped Monjit Loushambam (10) lbw for 10 runs to reduce NAPSA to 59 for 3 after 14.3 overs but Bijaykaran Yumnam (26) and Premananda Ahongsangbam (31) stood firm to steer NAPSA to a winning 116 in 24.4 overs.
Laishram Electronic who returned with the best bowling figures of 5 for 28 in 6.5 overs and added 16 runs in the chase, was adjudged man of the match.
