RRCC open MNCA Plate Tournament campaign with 27 run victory over KIYC

IMPHAL, Dec 30 : RRCC-Churachandpur kickstarted their MNCA Plate Tourney Group A campaign with a 27 run win over KIYC-Kshetrigao today here at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground.
Sent in to bat first, RRCC were bundled out for 165 runs in 28.3 overs by KIYC but the latter team succumbed to 138 all out in the chase.
The Churachandpur team had a sloppy start before Lanminlen Sitlhou scored a half century and remained not out on 70 off 51 deliveries as he smassed seven fours and two sixes. Haojalen Kipgen (42) had also provided earlier momentum before he was dispatched by Aneesh Ahmed for the third wicket.
Aneesh Ahmed returned with the best bowling figures of 4/34 in 6 overs in RRCC's innings and Azmad Kh picked up two wickets. Md Abdulla Khan, Mv Md Aman and Mujibur Rahman shared a wicket each.
Chasing 166 for the win, Geetchandra Moirangthem (15) and Md Kaosar (23) gave KIYC a positive start before Aneesh Ahmed topscored with 35 but Haojalen Kipgen (4/25), Sahil Kumar (3/26) and Letkhotinthang (2/17) rattled the batting line up led the eventual collapse.
Haojalen Kipgen who shone with both the bat and ball was eventually adjudged man of the match.
MPA-Thounaojam will play NCA-Ningthoukhong in the next match tomorrow.
