18th Governor's Cup FencingImphal East on the cusp of winning overall team champions title

IMPHAL, Dec 7 : Imphal East district team are on the cusp of becoming overall champions in the 18th Governor's Cup State Level Fencing Championship organised by Manipur Fencing Association at SAI Indoor Hall, Takyelpat.
The championship will be formally brought to a close tomorrow.
In the mini boys' foil event, A Henthoi of Imphal East beat compatriot L Cityboy 15-12 to win the gold medal as L Deepu beat Sachiraj S for the epee gold in another all-Imphal East final clash.
The sabre gold for mini boys also went to Imphal East's N Lanchenba who beat compatriot Richtopper 15-9.
In the mini girls foil event, Roshini N beat K Joshika in an all-Imphal West final clash to secure the gold medal.
Yesterday in the epee final, Piyanganbi N of Imphal East beat S Shushima of Imphal West 15-1 to win the gold medal as H Florina of Imphal East beat Th Somika 15-7 to take the sabre gold.
In the meantime, Imphal East team swept the gold medal in the boys' team foil, epee and sabre events and girls' epee and sabre event.
Senapati teams emerged runners up in the boys' team foil, epee and sabre events.
Imphal East emerged girls team champions in the foil event as Imphal East finished second.
