IMPHAL, Dec 7 : State girls team bagged team event gold medal at the 26th Junior National Sepaktakraw Championship being underway at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna as the boys team settled for silver medal.
The State girls team beat Haryana 21-13, 21-13 in first regu and 21-13, 15-21, 21-16 in second regu to secure the top honour yesterday.
The girls team reached the final with a 2-0 beating of Odisha in the semi-final.
Earlier in the league stage, Manipur beat Kerala 3-0, Delhi 3-0 and Bihar 3-0 to earn the semi-final ticket.
Meanwhile in the boys' final, the State team suffered a 1-2 loss at the hands of Delhi to bag a silver medal.
Manipur won the first regu 21-17, 21-17 but lost 17-21, 24-22, 14-21 in the second regu and 14-21, 20-22 in the third regu to miss out on the gold medal.
In the boys regu event, Manipur booked a quarter final sport with 6 straight league stage victories today.
Manipur defeated Madhya Pradesh 21-15, 21-14 in the opening Group B match before easing past Rajasthan 21-8, 21-5 in the second match.
The State team then extended their winning run with a 21-11, 21-8 win over Himachal Pradesh; 21-15, 21-13 over Uttar Pradesh and 21-6, 21-7 over Karnataka.
