Protest continues

Imphal, Feb 1 : A sit-in-protest was held today at Keirao Bitra Mayai Leikai waiting shed condemning the alleged firing at the residences of Sagolsem Baleshwor and Sagolsem Shanjit and at Irilbung Kabui Khul.
Reportedly, both Baleshwor and Shanjit of Keirao Bitra Mayai Leikai are active workers of Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei.
Speaking to media persons, S Baleshwor stated that some random people shot fired and hurled stones at his house at around 1.30 am yesterday and did the same to the house of Sanjit too.
Saying that he has no enmity with anyone, he continued that a worker of Md Nasiruddin khan @ Boboy, however, attempted to attack him yesterday for  trying to subdue a tense atmosphere at Keirao Khunou, yesterday.
He claimed that the firing might be a retaliation for yesterday's incident.
Irilbung Library Union general secretary Ngangbam Amukhomba Meetei said that the entry of outsiders at Keirao Bitra had already been banned from 8 pm to avoid poll related violence by installing a gate.
Saying that they will intensify the restriction placed, he urged all to not enter  the locality other than matters related to health, emergency and essential services  after 8 pm.
He also urged all the locals of Keirao Bitra to return before 8 pm.
