AMHLL to honour Khongjom war heroes with Thang-T competition

IMPHAL, Apr 13 : The Apunba Manipur Huyen Lanlong Lup (AMHLL) is set to organise a Thang-Ta competition in  connection with the Khongjam Day observation.
AMHLL in a release, said that the competition is to be held to preserve the art of Huyen Lanlong (Thang-Ta) with which our forefathers have protected the uniqueness and identity of the Manipur society and its culture.
Along with a two-day Thang-Ta competition, the lup will pay respect to the brave martyrs of 1891 Anglo-Manipur war on April 23 by offering floral tributes, the release said.
Thang Chunggoi Haiba, Thang Chunggoi Chainaba and Thang-Ta will be the events of the competition to be held from April 22 to 23 at Iputhou Ikop Ningthou, Lamding, said AMHLL while urging all Thang-Ta units and training centres to participate in the competition.
