Governor reiterates vaccination call

Governor La Ganesan has reiterated that all Governments are fully committed for all round development and welfare of the people.
Addressing a function at Sadbhavna Mandap in Chakpikarong sub-divisional headquarters in Chandel district today, the Governor continued that all Governments are meant for the people and have been working for the people.
La Ganesan further said that progress has been seen in the last few years with the introduction of many welfare schemes by the Centre as benefits of the schemes have been directly given to the people through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
He also said that vaccination should be the priority to fight the Covid pandemic, next to cleanliness and urged the people to get at least two doses of Covid vaccine.
Assuring the people a clean and all weather road, he said almost all the roads in the State will be cleaned within a year.
To give safe drinking water to every household, steps have been taken up under Nationwide Jal Yojna, he added.
Stating that cleanliness would be the best way to fight any  form of diseases, the Governor said that one  should always try to keep themselves and the environment neat and clean.
Appealing to all the citizens to enrol for Aadhaar to check  intrusion, he expressed confidence that proper fencing work would be started soon in the border areas neighbouring Myanmar.
Earlier, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and village chiefs submitted memoranda to the Governor urging him to look into the grievances of the villagers.
The Governor also attended a tree plantation programme during his visit.
