IMPHAL, Apr 27 : SYDO, Lilong beat AKSDO, Khangabok by 1 wicket in the thrilling opening match of the 4th TDCA League cum knock out T-20 Tournament at Thoubal Moijing Playground.
Electing to bat first, AKSDO posted a meagre total of 78 runs for 9 wickets in 18 overs as SDYO bowlers put up a commendable bowling performance.
Kadamjit made the most of the strike to add 33 runs off 36 balls and Thoiba added 19 in AKSDO's tally in an innings which saw SYDO's Sarif (3/18 in 3 overs) and Irfan (3/9 in 3 overs) enjoying three wicket hauls and Rafik scalped twice for 20 runs in 3 overs.
Rohit of SYDO also picked up a wicket in this innings. SYDO chase was also not a smooth one as AKSDO bowlers made them toil but they held their nerves to complete the chase in the very last delivery with a wicket left to score.
 Rohit (10 not out) and Sarif Alam (4 not out) were on the crease as they eclipsed the total by a run after Abdul Rafik (16) and Irfan (12) provided early flourish.
L Ingobi of the Khangabok side fetched three wickets as Kadamjit and L Akash grabbed two wickets apiece but in a lost cause.
Sharif Alam who picked three wickets and added 4 runs to SYDO's tally was adjudged man of the match.
The day also saw RCA, Lilong crushing AMCA, Moijing by 10 wickets.
AMCA won the toss and chose to bat first but experienced a horrendous experience as they were bundled out for a paltry total of 26 runs within 7.5 overs with RCA's Mirza (4/6 in 4 overs) and Saba Khan (4/19 in 3.5 overs) managing four wickets each to trigger the big collapse.
The bowling carnage was so effective that none of the AMCA batters could register a double digit score in this innings and three were sent off on ducks. Sanju with 5 runs was the highest run getter while Baboy with 4 runs followed suit. Needing just 27 runs for the win, Emaran (7) and Zamir (18) finished off the chase within 3.5 overs without any loss.
Aziz Mirza was eventually named man of the match.
CAL, Masjid Road will play SYDO in the next match tomorrow morning while RCA will take on AKSDO in the afternoon.
