IMPHAL, Apr 8 : X-Polo Club will lock horns with MPSC-C in the ultimate clash of the 37th Men's State Level Polo Tournament organised by the All Manipur Polo Association (AMPA) at its Iroisemba ground.
In the first semi-final match of the tournament staged today, MPSC-C pulled off a comfortable 10-3 win against MPSC-B to book the final ticket.
S Bimol took centre stage in the game as he fired home 5 goals alone including the opener for MPSC-C.
The two sides had a neck and neck competition but MPSC-C saw out the first chukker 3-2 as S Bimol added twice and S Abungcha added one after Th Ranjit handed MPSC-B the breakthrough before the game was a minute old.
Ranjit scored yet another in the closing moments of the chukker to make it 2-3.
S Bimol and M Jawan added a goal each in the second chukker which saw MPSC-B draw blank and Bimol completed his haul of 5 goals scoring two of two goals for MPSC-C in the third chukker.
O Suresh managed to pull back a goal for the losing team in this chukker but it emerged their last goal as M Jawan hit twice and Roshan Singh chipped in a goal to complete the 10-3 thrashing.
Meanwhile in the second semi-final match, L Atangba hammered home six goals alone to hand X-Polo Club a 10-5 win over CHPC-A and set up final date with MPSC-C.
Leishemba Takhellambam opened the scoring for X-Polo Club as the first chukker ended in a 1-1 draw with L Thomson finding the equaliser for CHPC-A in the 5th minute. X-Polo Club however raced ahead in the second chukker with L Atangba scoring twice and P Ojit adding one against a goal scored by O Rozer for CHPC.
P Ojit added one goal and L Atangba added twice in the third chukker to extend the lead to 7-3 in the third chukker which saw Th Kaoba finding the target for CHPC-A.
Th Jacob then scored a goal and Atangba struck twice in the last chukker to ensure X-Polo Club the big win as H Muhindro and Th Kaoba managed a goal each for CHPC-A.
