109 Bn CRPF celebrates 32nd Raising Day

109 Bn CRPF on Friday celebrated its 32nd Raising day at  Battalion Headquarters, Mongsangei, Imphal West.
In the morning session, Bal Krishna Ram, Commandant-109 Bn CRPF paid  homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty, said a release issued by Commandant 109 Bn CRPF.
Speaking on the occasion, Bal Krishna Ram eulogized the enthusiasm and dedication towards duty of the officers and men that have made the battalion what it is today.
"CRPF, the country’s largest paramilitary force, is deeply committed  and dedicated to serving the Nation. The Nation is extremely proud of CRPF's valour and courage", he added.
The Commandant then congratulated all the officers and men of 109 Bn for their commitment to the Nation and urged them to continue their work with determination, dedication and  confidence.
Later, an Inter Coy Volleyball competition was conducted wherein HQ Coy won the trophy by defeating Rajbhavan team by 2-1.
In the evening session, a cultural programme was organised with Suresh Sharma, DIG, M&N Sector as the chief guest.
Bal Krishna Ram; Dr Ph Kirong Khon (CMO-109 Bn); Somanath Maharana, 2-I/C; Sandeep, 2-I/C; K Rajiv Singh, DC; L Ibomcha Singh, AC; Abonmai Kaipou, A/C; Alex L Khophom, AC; Dinesh, Commandant, GC-Imphal; Karowng Haopu, 2-I/C, Int M&N Sector; Akhilesh Kr Yadav, 2-I/C, 143 Bn, CRPF; Deepak Kumar, 2-I/C, 86 Bn, CRPF; Ramchandra Jat, 2-I/C, Range Imphal; and Vinod Sawant, DC, M&N Sector also took part in the event.
Various Manipuri cultural programmes including Thougal Jagoi, Dhol Dholok Cholom, Kabui dance, Thang Ta, Sankritan & Rash Leela were presented by artists of  KIMACS (Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society).
Moreover, Bihu dance, Deshbhakti group dance and Bhangra dance were also presented by Jawans of 109 Bn.
The programme was hosted by L Laxmikanta Singh, AC along with HC/RO, Rita Devi and Ct/GD Viswanath Mishra.  
Families of martyrs were also invited and honored by presenting gifts on the occasion.
