Education Minister distributes Smart TV for digital classes; assures to work for betterment of education sector

Education, Law & Legislative Affairs Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh today distributed Smart TV for digital classes to eight selected schools in Imphal West district.
The programme was organised by District Administration, Imphal West at Kombirei Hall, DC Complex, Imphal West.
Addressing the gathering, Th Basanta Kumar Singh expressed his appreciation to the Administration of the Imphal West for conducting such a programme for the improvement and effective implementation of the Governmental schemes.
The Minister assured to take up educational schemes and methods systematically for the improvement of the education sector in the State.
With the implementation of Indian Government schemes like SSA, RMSA, RUSA etc, infrastructures of the schools are getting better, he said.
He maintained that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, discussion for the development of the education sector and initiation of further steps has been held with officials and experts of the Department.
 The Smart TV being distributed today to some schools by the Imphal West Administration is an example of such initiatives taken up for starting digital classes that will benefit the students considerably, he added.
He also assured for proper utilisation of educational funds. The Minister further informed that he will visit all the districts to enquire about the preparedness and plans each Deputy Commissioner has to take for the development of the educational sector.
Emphasizing on the importance of quality education in the State, the Minister said that if the students are trained and led the right way, they can do a lot for the development of the State.
He also extended his gratitude to the teachers for their sedulous service in shaping the future of the students and reiterated that required infrastructure for educational institutions in the State would be revamped appropriately to provide the best of learning experience to the students.
 He suggested that on 'No School Bag Day' which falls on Saturday, moral lessons about good character, nation building and service to the society must be taught to the students which will eventually add up in providing quality education and called for suggestions from all for the betterment of the education system.
Regarding the issue of shortage of teachers, the Minister assured to resolve the issue at the earliest.
The schools which were handed over the smart TV today are Yumnam Huidrom High School, Kumari High School, Samusang Santipur UPS, Lilong Higher Secondary School, Hindi Higher Secondary School, SK Ideal Higher School, Keishamthong High School and Lamdeng High School.
Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West district, Th Kiran Kumar, IAS, Zonal Education Officers, Zone-I, (Khuyathong) Imphal West, Suchet Khumukcham; Zonal Educational Officer Wangoi, Imphal West Akoijam Bimolchand; staff of Education departments, SDO, SDC of Imphal West and teachers from different schools among others were also present on the occasion.
