Mishap claims 1

IMPHAL, May 12: An individual was killed in a road accident that occurred at Taothong, opposite Himalayan Tiles along Uripok-Kangchup road.
Sources informed that the accident happened last night when a speeding car (Duster) heading towards Imphal from Lamsang side hit a water tanker from behind at Taothong, opposite Himalayan Tiles.
One Konthoujam Babu (26) s/o Ibotombi of Nongpok Sanjenbam sitting on the front seat of the vehicle died on the spot.
Four others including the driver of the four-wheeler (Duster) got seriously injured and were evacuated to Shija Hospital and JNIMS Hospital.
Two were admitted in Shija Hospital and the other two in JNIMS hospital. They are said to be in serious conditions. Lamsang police have registered a case regarding the incident.
