First centralised AC Hall now adorns RIMS

IMPHAL, May 13 : RIMS Director Prof A Santa has inaugurated the first centralised AC hall of the healthcare institute "Golden Jubilee Sushruta Hall," today.
Addressing the inaugural function, Prof Santa said that the name of the AC hall was taken after Sushruta - father of surgery and plastic surgery.  
Saying that contemporary medical students should comprehend the ancient medical technique, he continued that at least 26 hostels in the healthcare institute were also given indigenous names to make "our culture and traditions familiar to students pursuing MBBS at RIMS."
He further said that a talk would be initiated to improve the patient care system at RIMS and added that a new CT Scan machine will be installed at the Casualty Ward shortly.
RIMS Medical Superintendent in Charge Dr M Rameshwar and  Executive Engineer of PDA Muan were also present.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by N Phillip Singh, media advisor RIMS said that Prof Santa Singh also inaugurated a newly installed Beckman Coulter Machine (DXC700 AU Machine) which can perform 1,200 tests in one hour at Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, RIMS Hospital.
RIMS Biochemistry HoD, Prof Shaini Devi, Medical Superintendent in-charge, Prof Rameshwor Singh, UCM president, K Joychandra staff and faculty members of the institute took part in the inauguration programme.
At the function, Prof Santa mentioned that Beckman Coulter Machine DXC700 AU is the latest machine installed at the Biochemistry Department, RIMS Hospital which can perform  different types of test while Prof Shaini Devi said that test for LFT, KFT, Lipid Profile, Serum Electrolytes, Calcium and others can be done by the machine.
