Manipuri Cultural Festival concludes

IMPHAL, May 13: The 3-day Manipuri Cultural Festival jointly organised by  Chana Lukhoi Art Centre and Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur conducted at Chana Pukhri Mapal from May 11 came to a close today.
Speaking as the chief guest during the valedictory ceremony, Dr Kshetri Tama called for people to preserve Manipuri culture and stressed on its importance saying that culture is the backbone of a society.
Dr Kshetri Tama also lauded Chana Lukhoi as an eminent personality of Manipur who played a big role in preserving many artforms of the State.
The event was attended by Sobita Mongjam, vice president PAWF Manipur as president of the function and Laishram Dinesh, social worker, as guest of honour.
 It may be noted that the day's function was organised in memory of Oinam Sangai, renowned narrator of Meetei Puya.
Highlights of the ceremony included a floral tribute paid to the photograph of Oinam Sangai and presentation of stories from Meetei Puya and Leishem Jagoi.
