Farmers urged to register for 'Loumisingi Paojel'

A three day training programme on the topic of mushroom cultivation was kicked off today at the community hall in Heirok Part I Umang Laikol, Thoubal district. It is worth noting that the training programme will conclude on May 28 and was launched as part of the 'Loumisingi Paojel' project.
The training programme was carried out under the aegis of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt of India and jointly organised by   College of Agriculture, Central Agriculture University Imphal and Digital India Corporation (DIC), New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenny Thangjam, agri associate of 'Loumisingi Paojel' project said that the goal of the project was to keep farmers updated about the latest techniques, news, rules and regulations about farming, poultry rearing etc through mobile phones.
He also shared that farmers can register themselves in the 'Loumisingi Paojel' project by calling the toll-free number 1800-102-3141 and providing their personal details.
   Mentioning one of the perks of registering for this project, he stated that a registered member can receive expert advice about farming methods or receive advice regarding diseases affecting their crops or animals.
The project currently covers Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching but farmers from other districts can also avail themselves of the facilities provided through this project, he maintained.
Field Manager Hijam Thoiba also encouraged farmers to register themselves and become prosperous digital farmers.
The training programme was attended by Konthoujam Thoiba, president All Manipur Progressive Farmers Association (AMPFA), Laishram Khamba, Pradhan, Heirok Part (I) GP and Kh (O) Gunamani, Dr Ambedkar awardee, Tongbram Arpan, state project co-ordinator, DIC, AK Priyokumar, associate member, Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi as presidium members.
