Election opposed

KANGPOKPI, May 27: Komrem Union and Komrem Students Union have opposed the Kom Union election slated to be held on May 28 at Adimjati, Chingmeirong, Imphal during an emergency meeting held at the Komrem Union Office at Lamphel.
The joint body stated that Kom Union has no vision for the people and society.
While appealing to the general public and village authorities of the Komrem communities not to fall into the trap of those who "merely work for their selfish interest", the joint body urged the people to refrain from participation in the "illegal election".
It also warned that if any Komrem village chiefs and youth failed to comply with their instruction, they would be held responsible for any unfortunate consequences.
