Letpao Haokip felicitated; roofing sheets, plates distributed

TENGNOUPAL, May 28: Several communities of Moreh town organised a felicitation ceremony in honour of TA & Hills, Horticulture & Soil Conservation Minister Letpao Haokip at the conference hall of Tamil Sangam, Moreh today.
The event was also attended by Lukhosei Zou, former ADC Chairman; former ADC member Cecilia and representatives and leaders of MCM, HTC, ACODOM, Tamil Sangam, MMCM, Gorkha Samaj Samiti as well as meira paibis and student bodies among others.
During the felicitation function, Letpao Haokip was lauded for procuring a ministerial post and presented with simple gifts. A letter detailing the various measures required for the progress and development of Moreh town was also submitted to the Minister.
In a separate event, Minister Letpao Haokip also distributed steel plates and zinc roofing sheets to underprivileged households of different communities in Moreh town.
Speaking on the occasion, Letpao Haokip stated that the steel plates were distributed to curb the widespread use of single-use plastic disposable plates and cups. Further, the zinc sheets were distributed under the TA & Hills Department to aid poverty stricken households.
