IMPHAL, May 4: Rajkumari Panthoi from Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak has bagged the 'Badami Vijay Gold Medal' presented by the Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya (IKSVV), Chhattisgarh which is considered as one of the premier institutes of music and performing arts in Asia.
Rajkumar Panthoi has been accorded with Badami Vijay Gold Medal for securing the top position in MA (Violin and Indian Classical Music). To honour her achievement, Rajkumar Panthoi was felicitated during a programme held on May 2 organised by the Diamond Club, Wangkhei Ayangpalli and the locals of the area.
The felicitation programme which was held at the office of the Diamond Club was graced by MAPI Council's president, KC Romio, Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup's president Y Memma and president of Diamond Club, Toijam Saratkumar as the presidium members.
Addressing media persons on the sidelines of the programme, Rajkumari Panthoi said that the gold medal was presented to her during the convocation ceremony held at the university on April 27, 2022. Stating that her hardwork and dedication has led her to win the prestigious medal, she expressed contentment that she is the first to receive a gold medal in MA (Violin and Indian Classical Music) from a university outside the State.
