State Level Sepak Takraw Championship 2022 begins

IMPHAL, May 4 : State Level Sepak Takraw Championship-2022 organised by the Social Welfare Club (SWC), Hiyanglam Makha Leikai under the auspices of the All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association got underway today at Hiyanglam in Kakching district.
The opening day of the championship saw completion of mini girls' regu competition final line up with PUC, Kairang and IMSUC-A Heingang emerging league winners and runners up respectively.
PUC opened their account beating IMSUC-A 21-17 21-14 before easing to 21-12 21-15 win over IMSUC-B and 21-12 21-9 against hosts SWC, Hiyanglam to complete their treble in the 4 team league stage and book the final berth.
Meanwhile, IMSUC-A made their way back into the tournament beating SWC 18-21 21-17 21-17 and confirmed their final ticket by edging 21-19 20-22 21-17 past IMSUC-B.
Earlier in the second match, SWC defeated IMSUC-B 21-17 21-10.
Five matches of the 8-team regu competition of mini boys were also decided today. PUC also dominated in the competition as they thumped IMSUC-A 21-17 21-18 before securing a 21-10 21-15 win over KYDO, Kumbi in another match.
Earlier in the opening match, AKSTA beat KYDO 21-16 18-21 21-19 in an all Kumbi team clash. In the third match, SWC-A beat IMSUC-B 21-8 21-6 before HUDIC, Heingang overcame SWC-B 21-5 21-14 in the fourth match.
Meanwhile in the junior boys regu event opening match, SAIRC-A edged past IMSUC 14-21 21-16 21-17.
