Saplings planted at Kangla Fort

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal planted around fifty fruit bearing plants inside the sacred Kangla Fort as a part of its fortnight observation of Swachhata Pakhwada 2022.
As per a press release by IBSD Imphal, the tree plantation programme was led by Dr Sudripta Das, senior scientist of the institute and joined by other scientists, students and other staff members. The Swachhata Pakhwada launched by the Government of India, is a fortnight long programme observed to ensure mass participation of citizens in Swachhta activities and to truly transform Swach Bharat into a citizen's movement.
IBSD kicked off the observation on  May 2 with the cleaning, collection and proper disposal of wastes including plastics in and around its campus and Manipur Science Centre, Takyelpat under the guidance of its Director, Professor Pulok Kumar Mukherjee.
The observation will continue till May 15, 2022 with different programmes in its Imphal office and other Regional Centre/Nodes located in Sikkim, Shillong and Aizawl, added the release.
