IMPHAL, May 8
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society has urged the State Government to appoint a new Director of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) while adhering to the necessary rules and regulations.
In a statement, KIMACS also addressed the controversy surrounding the issue of seniority in the appointment of a new SCERT director.
KIMACS added that the organisation has jointly worked with SCERT in providing training to Thang-Ta teachers and in conducting orientations, workshops.
However due to the absence of a director, a lot of collaborative work between KIMACS and SCERT in connection with framing curriculum, syllabus etc have remained at  a standstill. Aside from this, the required efforts needed for framing rules and regulations in the recruitment of Thang-ta teachers have also halted since last year, KIMACS asserted. As such, KIMACS have appealed to the State Administration to appoint a new director at the earliest and to select the right candidate that will not invoke the ire of the employees of SCERT.
