IMPHAL, Jun 1
The Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) has appealed to the Imphal Municipal Corporation  to take up strict measures to ensure that every shop puts up their shop numbers and shop names clearly.
PPCM came across many shops sans shop names and numbers during an inspection drive at Thangal Keithel today as a part of its continued efforts to check on anomalies regarding price of commodities, weight issues etc in markets and shops across the State, said a press release by PPCM.
During the drive, the members came across various anomalies which include irregularity among different shops regarding the price and weight of commodities, no display of price lists,  non issuance of cash memos or receipts, non payment of mandatory tax to the Government and so on. Expressing concern over such irregularities and the indifference attitude of the authorities concerned over these matters, PPCM urged the authorities concerned to look into these issues at the earliest in the interest of the masses especially the working class, poor and needy.
